A bear that found its way into a Beloit neighborhood Saturday night was tranquilized and relocated, according to police.

Police were sent to the 1100 block of Kenwood Avenue around 10:15 p.m. for reports of a black bear in the area, officials said.

Officers worked with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to safely contain the adult male bear, tranquilize it and relocate it out of the city, authorities said.

Officials said the bear was relocated by 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
