Police technology helps officer arrest man on drug charges
Police technology in Verona helped officers seize drugs early Thursday morning, according to a release.
Verona police said the police department’s license plate recognition system alerted officers to a vehicle with a stolen Wisconsin license plate on the 300 block of North Main Street at 1:43 a.m.
Officers stopped the vehicle, driven by 44-year-old Jesse May of Madison, and searched the vehicle, according to the report. Police seized about 11 grams of suspected methamphetamine, multiple articles of drug paraphernalia, suspected marijuana and prescription pills.
May was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony bail jumping. He was taken to the Dane County Jail.
