Police: Suspicious suitcase found near the Overture not a threat

MADISON, Wis. — Madison Police said the suspicious suitcase found near the Overture Center Friday night was not a threat.

Around 8 p.m. Nov. 16, officers were called to the intersection of State Street and North Henry Street for a report of a suspicious bag.

When they arrived, they found a suitcase padlocked and chained to a bike rack.

Subsequently, the area around the bag was cordoned off and the Dane County Explosive Ordinance Disposal team responded to assist.

Ultimately, officers deemed the bag non-threatening and cleared the scene.
