Police: Stranger in white sedan offers girl ride

9-year-old, another child ignore man after he exits car

MADISON, Wis. — Police said an older man offered an elementary school girl he didn’t know a ride Wednesday afternoon on the east side.

A 9-year-old girl told police she was walking with another child in the area of Kurt Drive and North Thompson Drive when a stranger, a white man in his 60s, offered them a ride.

The girl said the man was driving a white four-door sedan with some rust.

The girl also told officers the man got out of the car and said he could walk with the children. They ignored him and continued on to their homes, according to the report.

The report noted the man was wearing baggy blue pants and a dark shirt.
