Police seek 2 men in connection with attempted homicide

Police are searching for two men in connection with a shooting that sent one person to the hospital in Beloit Thursday night.

According to a release from the Beloit Police Department, police responded to a Citgo gas station in the 1800 block of Shopiere Road at about 6 p.m. for a report of shots fired.

On Friday police Capt. Dan Risse said a felony warrant was issued for 20-year-old Ricardo Holloway, of Beloit, for attempted first-degree intentional homicide. Holloway should be considered armed and dangerous.

Risse said police are also seeking 31-year-old Morean Williams, of Beloit, in connection with the shooting. A warrant was issued for his arrest on a probation violation and a felony warrant for party to the crime of attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

Beloit police evidence technicians worked through the night processing evidence. At about 8 a.m. Friday, the vehicle believed to have been used during the shooting was recovered abandoned in the 1600 block of Porter Avenue, police said.

It is believed the participants in the incident were known to each other and that the crime itself was not random.

“We have no indication yet that this was nothing more than a shooting,” Risse said. “It is very early in the investigation.”

During their investigation, officers were notified that a gunshot victim had been taken to Beloit Memorial Hospital by a private vehicle. The individual received medical care for life-threatening injuries.

Risse said the victim is a man between 18 to 25 years old and had multiple gunshot wounds. He said it’s not clear how many shots were fired.

Holloway also has a warrant issued for a probation violation, police said.

Police asked anyone with information about the shooting to call the department at 608-364-6801, the Beloit Crime Stoppers at 608-362-7463 or text 274637 and type BACS plus your message. Police said anyone with information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000.
