Police search for woman accused of stealing designer purse
Madison, Wisc. — The Madison Police Department is looking for a suspected purse snatcher.
Police say a woman from Cottage Grove and a man were sitting at a bench on Atwood Avenue on Wednesday when another woman snatched the victim’s purse.
Her friend tried to chase the woman but ended up falling, according to a release from the Madison Police Department.
The man told police he was able to see a woman duck into the passenger seat of a black pickup truck.
The stolen purse is valued at $300, officials say. It contained cash, car keys, credit cards and the victim’s cellphone.
The thief is described as a white female between 30 and 40 years old, very thin build, black hair. She was wearing black exercise shorts and a bright pink shirt.
