Police said man attacked car after ex-girlfriend wouldn’t talk to him

A 31-year-old man faces felony charges of criminal damage to property after he caused $7000 in damage to his estranged girlfriend’s car, according to Madison police.

Police said the incident happened in the 600 block of Fairmont Avenue around 2 a.m. Monday.

According to police, Andre Jones and his girlfriend were in the process of breaking up, when he went over to her home to talk to her.

Police said when she didn’t answer the door or his numerous phone calls and texts, he proceeded to kick at her vehicle, causing significant damage.

Police found out about the incident on Thursday and arrested Jones.
