Police: Man chases victim with baseball bat; smashes car windows

Police took Antione L. Jefferson, 42, into custody Friday morning after he allegedly attacked another man with a baseball bat on Bram Street.

According to an incident report, witnesses said the two men were arguing, when Jefferson retrieved a bat from a vehicle and began swinging at the victim’s head. The 48-year-old victim was able to avoid getting hit by the bat and ended up being chased around some parked cars.

Jefferson then allegedly used the bat to shatter the windows of the victim’s vehicle and threatened to get a gun, even though no gun was visible at the time.

Jefferson was arrested for second-degree recklessly endangering safety and a probation hold. He was arrested shortly after the incident.
