A man seen driving erratically in a school zone two days in a row was found to be suffering from mental health issues, according to a release from Madison police.

A concerned citizen called police around 5:10 p.m. Wednesday to report a reckless driver who sped past Frank Allis Elementary School, officials said.

The driver’s pickup truck was seen swerving in the roadway, crossing the double yellow line and going into the wrong lanes of traffic, according to the release.

The same truck was reported on Tuesday after it was seen recklessly passing other cars in a school zone on the east side, police said. An officer found the pickup truck and its driver Wednesday at Olbrich Park.

The 50-year-old driver told the officer he was driving in an erratic manner because killers and hit men were following him, according to the release. The man was taken to a hospital to be checked for mental health issues.
