Police: Drunken Driver Had Child In Car

Madison police said they arrested a suspected drunken driver who had a small child in her vehicle on Friday.

Madison police said they were contacted by staff at the Goodwill Store on East Springs Drive about 5 p.m. Friday after a woman who smelled of alcohol and was acting strangely came into the store.

Employees told police that the woman had driven to the store with a small child.

Police said the woman told officers that she had one drink many hours ago but was not drunk. But police said her breath test of 0.16 indicated she was intoxicated.

The woman, Jennifer A. Griesfeldt, 29, of Madison, was arrested on a charge of third-offense OWI with a passenger under the age of 16.

Police said the child was picked up by a family member, and Griesfeldt was taken to jail.
