Police: Couple robbed on Madison’s west side by friend

Suspect able to steal phone

Madison police are investigating a reported robbery. A boyfriend and girlfriend said they were contacted by a friend who asked if they could drive to the west side of Madison to pick up another friend. The couple brought the friend to the 1100 block of Moorland Road.

The boyfriend told police he got out of the car, then the suspect pulled a gun on the girlfriend and demanded money.

The girlfriend said she saw police as the couple pulled in and honked the horn repeatedly. According to the couple, the suspect ran away with the girlfriend’s cellphone. The investigation is ongoing.
