Police: Bartender hit by banjo-wielding patron
Police arrest man who used banjo as a weapon
MADISON, Wis. — Madison police said a 20-year-old man was arrested Saturday after he struck a bartender with a banjo. Police said the incident happened outside the Willy Street Pub.
Andre Stoltzfus was arrested after police said he refused to show a bartender at the pub identification. The bartender asked Stoltzfus to leave, that’s when police said Stoltzfus began swinging his banjo. The musical instrument hit the bartender in the leg.
According to police reports, the bartender removed Stoltzfus from the bar, but not before he grabbed a hatchet. The bartender went back into the establishment and called 911.
Police arrested the 20-year-old as he walked a few blocks away.
