Police: 2 found dead with gunshot wounds during investigation in Sun Prairie
SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — Sun Prairie police have released new details regarding an ongoing death investigation.
A news release said officers responded to a welfare check Wednesday evening at a home near the intersection of South Legacy Way and Blue Aster Boulevard.
Sun Prairie police Lt. Ryan Cox said a 37-year-old woman and 35-year-old man were found dead with gunshot wounds. The release said evidence gathered indicated the man’s wounds were self-inflicted.
Police believe the incident was isolated. Investigators processed the scene and are continuing to conduct interviews.
The investigation remains active and more information will be released at a later time.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Crime Lab, Wisconsin State Patrol and Wisconsin Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation also assisted Sun Prairie officials.
