Man may be connected to another gas station robbery

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police found a man they believe is connected to the robbery of a gas station on Madison’s east side Wednesday night.
Around 7 p.m. police were called to the Capitol Petro at 2702 E. Washington Ave. for reports of a man who implied he had a gun during a robbery.
The man left with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
A 52-year-old Madison man is being held on a probation hold. He was taken into custody at 10:15 p.m. and is also a suspect in a robbery that took place about 15 minutes before at Deon’s BP at 2310 Commercial Ave.
The robber in this incident demanded money, but grabbed a pack of cigarettes and left when the employee told him the store had video surveillance cameras, according to a release.
Police said the man’s name will be released if he’s arrested for the robberies.
