Two people ducked down or took cover when they heard gun shots near the intersection of Kedzie Street and Commercial Avenue Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Prior to the gunfire around 2 p.m., a witness saw an arm stick out of the passenger window of an older model silver minivan. The hand was holding an 8- to 10-inch gun, police said.

Multiple shots were fired, police said.

At the time of the gunfire, witnesses also saw a black car drive quickly rom the area, but police are unsure if this was the intended target.

Shell casings were recovered. There were no reports of injuries or property damage, according to police.
