Peggy L Trankle

Peggy L. Trankle, age 78, of Dodgeville, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at SSM Health, Madison following a brief illness. Peg was born on September 18, 1943, in Dodgeville to Russell and Alma (Brewer) Julson. Peg graduated from Dodgeville High School, Class of ’61 and married her high school sweetheart Jon Trankle on June 23, 1961. They just celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Peg worked many jobs. She worked at Governor Dodge State Park and as a Teacher’s Aide at Dodgeville Elementary with Mary Horne/Curtis. She then spent time working at SWC (Southwest Cap). Next were many years at PIC (Private Industry Council). She sold advertising for Charter Communications followed by Upland Hills Health Emergency Room Registration and finally with Dean Clinic.

Peg loved her Church (Dodgeville United Methodist Church). While a member she enjoyed many activities there. She sang in the choir, decorated the church for each season, worked at many many funeral meals, fall dinners and keeping the church history. Travel was one of Peg’s other favorite things. She took many trips over the years and especially liked going to Florida with her girls and traveling to Branson and many other places. Another of her greatest joys were her beloved pets.

Peg absolutely cherished her family. She had three children – Mike (Diane) Trankle; Paula Larson and Laurie Bratz. Peg had five grandchildren – Zach (Lindsay) and Hayden Trankle; Lexi (Brendan) O’Neill; Isaac Larson and Haleigh Bratz and one great-grandbaby, Quinn Lou Trankle. She is further survived by her brother, Paul Julson and a niece, Joanna (Jason) Haser and nephews, Paul and Brett Julson; a sister-in-law, Shelly (Mike) Shultz and niece and nephew, Courtney Juvland and Mark (Angie) Schultz along with many cousins and great-nieces and great-nephews. Peg also had many special friendships that she valued over the years.

Peg was a joyous person to be around. She loved friendship and family and she will be greatly missed by all who know and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Alma Julson and her in-laws, Max and Fern Trankle.
