Pedestrian struck by vehicle, killed in rural Sauk County
TOWNSHIP OF GREENFIELD, Wis. — A pedestrian was killed Wednesday morning after they were struck by a vehicle in rural Sauk County.
Emergency crews were sent to the intersection of Durwards Glen Road and Luebke Road outside of Baraboo just after 9:30 a.m. after the crash was reported, Sauk County Sheriff’s officials said.
First responders found a damaged Chevrolet Equinox and the pedestrian lying on the side of the road. MedFlight was requested, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead a few minutes later and the request was canceled.
An investigation found that the driver was heading north on Durwards Glen Road just north of the intersection. The pedestrian was on the east side of the road heading south towards Luebke Road when they were struck.
Officials said that the driver called 911 after the crash, stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The name of the pedestrian was not released.
