Pedestrian injured in hit-and-run crash near UW campus
Victim listed in stable condition

MADISON, Wis. — A 23-year-old Madison man was injured when he was struck by a car early Tuesday morning.
Witnesses told Madison police that the victim was in a University Avenue crosswalk, heading south on North Frances Street about 2 a.m., when he was struck by a car.
Police said the driver sped off, but witnesses were able to provide a good description of the vehicle.
Fitchburg police officers found the car in the 1000 block of Whispering Pines Way.
The driver, Robert Agnew Jr., 24, of Fitchburg, was arrested on charges of hit-and-run and operating a vehicle while under the influence, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.
The victim was listed in stable condition at a hospital Tuesday with facial and leg injuries, police said.
