PD: Man forces door at medical facility open, hurts nurse

MADISON, Wis. — A 24-year-old man is facing charges after police said he attacked a nurse in downtown Madison early Saturday.
The Madison Police Department said Michael R. Jarocki, of Oshkosh, is accused of forcing open a locked door at 2:40 a.m. at the Select Specialty Hospital on Braxton Place and hurting a worker.
According to the report, Jarocki threatened the nurse, then placed his hands on the nurse’s neck. The two struggled, ending up on the floor.
Police said a security guard arrived and handcuffed Jarocki.
The report said it wasn’t clear why Jarocki forced his way into the hospital.
The nurse, who suffered an elbow injury, told police he could smell alcohol on Jarocki’s breath.
Jarocki faces tentative charges of battery, damage to property and disorderly conduct.
