PD: Man claiming to play for baseball team attacks bar-goer, pulls his hair
MADISON, Wis. — A Madison man is facing charges after he attacked two men at a west Madison bar early Friday morning, police said.
Madison police said 37-year-old Anthony J. Volk was at the Vintage Bar on Whitney Way shortly after midnight when he got in an argument. Volk was wearing a Detroit Tigers baseball cap and claimed to play for the club. A group in the bar was skeptical and an argument ensued.
Witnesses told police Volk pushed two 21-year-old men in the group down in the parking lot, punching one of them several times in the head and kicking his stomach multiple times.
According to the report, Volk put the other 21-year-old man in a headlock and pulled his hair.
Police said the man needed stitches to close a head wound.
Volk was arrested on suspicion of a count of battery and another count of substantial battery.
