MADISON- Pauline M. Gratz, age 80, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013. She was born on August 21, 1932 in Cuba City, the daughter of George and Marie (Wedig) Vosberg. After graduating from Cuba City High School in 1950, Pauline attended the Madison Business College for one year. On June 20, 1953, she married William Gratz in Cuba City. Pauline worked for 21 ½ years as a receptionist for the state of Wisconsin, retiring in 1995. She was a longtime member of St. Dennis Catholic Church and past member of the altar society. Pauline was an avid quilter, gardener and traveler. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and enjoyed going to her all grandchildren’s activities over the years. Pauline will always be remember for her good sense of humor.

She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, William; children, Gregory (Kathi) Gratz, Diane (Greg) Leck, Linda (Gary) Bakke and Daniel (Tammy) Gratz; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Jean Puchalski, Joyce Hoppenjan, David (Mary Jo) Vosberg and Ronald Vosberg; and many nieces and nephews. Pauline was preceded in death by her son, Stephen; and parents.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 2 p.m., on Saturday, March 23, 2013, with Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013, and also from 1 p.m until the time of service on Saturday. Memorials may be made in Pauline’s name to Agrace HospiceCare or to the American Cancer Society.

Pauline’s family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at St. Mary’s Care Center and Agrace HospiceCare for all of their wonderful care; and to all of our family and friends who have been there for us during this time of need.
