Patrick J. O’Rourke

Patrick J. O’Rourke, age 77, of Janesville, died on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at Agrace Center for Hospice & Palliative Care.

Pat was born in Benton County, MN, on May 17, 1938, the son of Thomas and Mary Katherine (Feany) O’Rourke. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and married Mary Lou Kramschuster in St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Bloomer, WI. Pat had worked as an educator for 33 years. During that time, he taught and coached football and wrestling in Rockford, IL, and Barron, WI; he also taught in Chippewa Falls, WI.

Pat served as the high school principal in Weyauwega, WI, and was the Dean of Students at the Wisconsin School for the Visually Handicapped in Janesville. Pat’s first love was his family.

He was extremely proud of his young sons and the men they have become. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou O’Rourke; 2 children, Kevin (Michelle) O’Rourke of Apple Valley, MN, and Ryan (Jerilyn) O’Rourke of Manitowoc, WI; 2 grandchildren, Aislyn and Caitlyn; 4 siblings: Kay Dalton, Jerry (Karen) O’Rourke, Mary Margaret (Roger) Baumhover and Larry (Irene) O’Rourke; and many other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, James O’Rourke.
