Passenger Arrested Following Rollover Crash
A passenger in a car that rolled over several times before coming to rest in a ditch was arrested after he attempted to flee the scene, Grant County sheriff’s officials said.
Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash with injuries at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at State Highway 80 and Rock Church Road in Clifton Township.
Sheriff’s officials said Crystal M. Soderstrom, 30, of Livingston, was driving north on State Highway 80 south of Livingston when her and her passenger, Bradley J. Knight, 30, of Livingston, began to argue.
Knight threatened to take Soderstrom’s life and grabbed the steering wheel, forcing them to travel into the southbound lane of State Highway 80, into oncoming traffic, according to a Grant County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Sheriff’s officials said Soderstrom attempted to avoid a head-on collision and over-corrected, forcing her car to roll several times before coming to rest in a ditch.
Knight then attempted to flee the scene on foot before being taken into custody, sheriff’s officials said.
Soderstrom was taken to a hospital for treatment of head and neck injuries. Knight suffered minor injuries in the crash, sheriff’s officials said.
Grant County sheriff’s officials said Knight was arrested on two outstanding warrants and a new charge of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
Soderstrom was not cited as a result of the crash.
