Parent speaks out on Dodge County teen brawl

A parent is speaking out on a huge fight that landed 18 teenagers in trouble.
Dodge County authorities had to step in to break up a brawl at the county fair last week.
Jada Hodges admits she smashed a cup full of lemonade on another girl’s head.
But she says she was only retailitaing after a group of girls were calling her names.
Cell phone video captured the melee that occurred when nearly a dozen others jumped in.
18 teens were cited for disorderly conduct.
But Jada’s mother says she wants a harsher punishment for some.
“They quoted one boy as saying he egged it on because he didn’t like one of the girls and wanted to see her assaulted,” said Julie Hodges. “And this is the kind of thing Jada dealt with in school last year.”
“I actually didn’t even know that all those girls were on top of me,” said Jada. “I didn’t know I was being kicked in the head. I didn’t know I was being punched until I watched the video.”
Those cited ranged in age from 13 to 17 years old.
Some boys watching the fight were also given tickets since they did not call 911 right away.
