Pack it up, pack it in: Badgers’ football season to begin with away game in Florida

MADISON, Wis. — The Badgers are back!

Wisconsin players are in Florida ahead of their season opener Friday night. The team starts the 2019 football season in Tampa with a 6 p.m. kickoff against South Florida. It’s set to be an exciting year for the team.

After a disappointing 8-5 finish last season, the Badgers are ranked 19th in The Associated Press Top 25 poll heading into the year.

If you want to be part of a group of like-minded, red-wearing Badger crazies, there are several places to go around town. Of course, Buffalo Wild Wings on University will be showing the game. You can also order a pint and watch it at the Memorial Union. And north-siders can head to Bierock on North Sherman Avenue for their first watch party of the season, complete with beer bratwurst and cheese curds.

On Sept. 7, Camp Randall will be packed with fans ready to jump around at the Badgers’ first home game of the season. The team is hosting Central Michigan. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m.
