P. Thomas Cantwell

Brother, Father, Grandfather, Tom aka P. Thomas Cantwell of Kissimmee, Florida suffered a stroke Thursday April 12th from which he did not recover. He passed away Tuesday April 17th with his loving son Brian and daughter Kimberly at his side. He was born to William (Bill) and Florence in Madison on September 29, 1949, their 7th of 10 children.

Tom was a 1967 graduate of Middleton High School and a graduate of the UW-Madison. Throughout the years Tom had various achievements: he served as a Middleton alderman, served as President of the Middleton City Council, and sat on the Middleton School Board. Tom also ran for Mayor of Middleton and was honored Businessperson of the Year by the Middleton Chamber of Commerce. Tom worked for Lubcke TV and Appliance, the Hub, Lord Jim, Xerox (over 25 years), and Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Tom is survived by son, Brian (Jen) of San Francisco and daughter Kimberly (Dan Koetke) of Madison and grandchildren Evan, Zoe and Sadie, all of whom he loved and was very proud. Tom is also survived by brothers Michael (Jeannette) of Madison, Jeffrey of Titusville, Florida, Stephen of Madison, Patrick (Jeanne) of Middleton, Edward (Daylene) of Merrimac, and a sister Beverly (Tom) Hayman of Waunakee, the mother of his children, Sue Ellan Cantwell of Orlando, Florida, and over a dozen nieces and nephews, as well as their many children.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Florence and father, William (Bill), two brothers Daniel (Banjo) and Roger, a sister Constance (Connie), and a niece Patricia.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6:30 with a short service afterwards at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Avenue, Middleton, on Friday, April 27th.
We wish to thank Marlene and Darcy for the care and friendship they provided Tom during the past year. May the road rise to meet you and the sun shine always on your face.
