Deputies: Crash starts when woman fails to negotiate curve
TOWN OF BELMONT, Wis. — A woman suspected of driving drunk crashed her vehicle after sending it airborne over a fence, according to a release from the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said Megan A. Morshead, 20, of Platteville, was driving east on County Road XX in the town of Belmont at about 3:30 a.m. Friday when she failed to negotiate a curve.
The report states she traveled into the north ditch, over-corrected and left the south side of the road, went airborne over a fence and overturned.
Morshead was taken to Southwest Health Center for treatment of injuries. She was cited on suspicion of operating under the influence, failure to keep her vehicle under control and operating after suspension.
