Overnight fire leaves one dead in Black River Falls

BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WKBT) — An overnight fire in Black River Falls left one person dead.
Officials with the Northwest Chapter of the American Red Cross said a residence in an eight unit apartment building on the 1200 block of Harrison Street in Black River Falls caught fire around 12:30 Sunday morning.
Officials with the organization said one person died as a result of the fire.
The Red Cross is assisting through emergency funding for hotels, food and clothing for residents who were displaced.
The Black River Falls Fire Department says the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The occupant of the apartment where the fire started has not been located, however, foul play is not suspected.
