‘Our theater’s stage has been dark for far too long’: Mineral Point Opera House announces concert lineup for 2021-22 season

MINERAL POINT, Wis. — After more than a year without hosting any concerts due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a historic venue in southwestern Wisconsin has announced its grand reopening.

The Mineral Point Opera House announced in a news release Friday it will open its doors Sept. 4 when Milwaukee’s very own BoDeans perform at the theater.

“Our theater’s stage has been dark for far too long,” said Bill Webb, president of the MPOH Board of Directors. “We intend to honor everyone who built and cared for this theater through the years with a renewed performing arts center that everyone in and around Mineral Point will be proud of.”

The following concerts have been scheduled for the 2021-22 season:

  • BoDeans (Sept. 4)
  • Comedy featuring Daryll Schmitz (Sept. 11)
  • Iris DeMent (Oct. 3)
  • Improv Night with Keith Huie (Oct. 9)
  • Dar Williams (Oct. 29)
  • The Weight Band (Nov. 6)
  • People Brothers Band (Feb. 5, 2022)
  • Martin Sexton (Feb. 26, 2022)
  • Mardi Gras Mambo 2022! Dirty Dozen Brass Band / Nathan & The Zydeco Cha-Chas (March 4, 2022)

Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning June 21, while members of the Friends of the Mineral Point Opera House will be able to purchase tickets starting June 7.
