One man in custody after Janesville traffic stop

JANESVILLE, Wis. — One person is in custody after a traffic stop early Saturday morning.

At 1:03 a.m., an officer stopped a car for operating without tail lights. According to a report, probable cause was developed to search the vehicle.

The driver, Marquise J. Vance, 26, attempted to run from officers. After a short chase, he was caught by K9 Fred. Police say Vance attempted to bite an officer during the arrest.

Vance is a convicted felon currently on probation. During a search, officers found fentanyl, narcotics, and large amounts of money.

In the vehicle, police found two loaded handguns and an extended gun magazine.

Vance is currently being held at the Rock County Jail on charges of Battery or Threat to Law Enforcement (Felony), Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, PWID Fentanyl (Felony), Possession of Schedule II Narcotic (Felony), Felon in Possession of a Firearm   (2x)(Felony), Probation/Parole Violation (Felony), and Causing Harm to Police Animal (Felony).
