Officials respond to multi-vehicle crash in Town of Springdale

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office, along with personnel from the Black Earth Fire Department and Mount Horeb Fire Department responded to the Town of Springdale for a multi-vehicle crash Saturday night.
The crash happened around 5 p.m. on County Road G near Sand Ridge Court in the town of Springdale.
The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a Ford F-150, 29-year-old Julie I. Habberman, of New Glarus, was southbound on County Road G, entering a curve and went off the road. Habberman crossed the center line and collided with a Honda Pilot, driven by 38-year-old Bronwyn M. Baldwin, of Fitchburg.
Habberman and her juvenile passenger were wearing seat belts and were not injured. Baldwin, also restrained in her seat belt, was pinned in her vehicle and had to be extricated by fire personnel. Baldwin was transported to UW Hospital, where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Speed appears to be a factor in the crash. Citations are pending for Habberman.
Deputies closed County Road G while they investigated. The roadway reopened at 6:10 p.m.
