Public health officials look for small dogs that bit man

Dane County Department of Public Health officials are looking for information on a dog that bit a woman Wednesday afternoon, according to a release.

A medium-sized pit bull-type dog allegedly bit a woman around 3:15 p.m. in the 3300 block of Portage Road, officials said.

The dog is described as weighing approximately 45 pounds, was red in color and had a short coat with floppy ears and a long tail, according to the release. The dog was not wearing a collar or tags.

The dog was running loose at the time of the incident and was not with a person, officials said.

Officials ask anyone with information on the dog to call 608-255-2345 and ask for the animal services officer.
