Officials ID 2 killed in car vs. bus crash in Rock County

ROCK COUNTY, Wis. — Two people are dead after deputies say a car crossed a centerline, hitting a bus.
It happened on East County Highway N just after 8 p.m. Saturday night. That’s west of North County Highway KK in Lima Township.
Investigators say the car hit the bus head-on, killing both the car’s driver and her passenger.
The car’s driver was a 20-year-old Savannah M. Sloniker, of Waterford. Her passenger was 22-year-old Anthony Tre Shaun Payton, of Whitewater. Both suffered severe injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the bus, and the 19 people onboard, were not hurt.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is now assisting with the investigation, but right now, no criminal or traffic charges are anticipated.
Rock County Sheriff’s Deputies, Milton Police, Janesville and Milton Fire and EMS, and MD-1 all responded to the crash.
