Officers, military pay respects to fallen trooper
SPARTA, Wis. — A fallen Wisconsin trooper was laid to rest Monday.
Anthony Borostowski, of Tomah, died in the line of duty early Tuesday morning when he lost control of his car and struck a tree on Interstate 90-94, near Lake Delton.
Gov. Scott Walker paid his respects at the funeral after calling Borostowski an “outstanding trooper” in a statement and ordering flags to fly at half-staff over the weekend.
Officers from across the nation attended the funeral service at Sparta High School. There was also a large military presence, as Borostowski served in the Army National Guard.
