Officers cleared in July shooting in Johnson Creek

The officers involved in a police shooting in Johnson Creek in July were deemed justified in their use of deadly force Thursday, according to a news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation surrounding the two officers in the use of deadly force that led to the death of Randy Engstrom Jr., from Milwaukee. The officers investigated were Waukesha County Deputy James Soneberg and Delafield Police Officer Daniel Bloedow, according to the release.

The review of the investigation was completed by Jefferson County District Attorney Susan Happ, according to the release.

Happ will make the report available on the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office’s website on or shortly after Oct. 3, according to the release.
