The National Weather Service is investigating a report of a possible tornado that struck 2 miles southwest of Monticello on Tuesday.

Officials said a trained spotter reported the tornado in the middle of a field that quickly dissipated. The preliminary rating of the tornado is EF-0 with a path length of 0.25 miles.

The National Weather Service also conducted a damage survey near New Glarus from Tuesday’s storms. They said a wet microburst caused wind damage 2 miles southwest of New Glarus. A number of trees were either uprooted or snapped off, and there was damage to a home that included a playset and a large statue along County Road N from County Road H down to Meadow Valley Road.

All damage was consistent with straight line winds, according to NWS officials.
