Nominate a nurse for Madison Magazine’s Top Nurses 2022

Madison Magazine is seeking nominations for Madison’s Top Nurses to expand the public’s understanding of the profession of nursing and its role in the community’s health, safety and well-being. The past few years have reminded us just how important our nurses are, and how their work never stopped as we navigated the coronavirus pandemic.

Madison Magazine asks medical professionals and members of the community to nominate nurses for the Top Nurses program every other year. See the recipients of Top Nurses 2020 here.

Nominations will be accepted in three categories:

• Practice: This award highlights outstanding clinical practice. It may include application of new evidence, education and development, and interdisciplinary relationships, as examples.
• Leadership: This award will be given to leaders who demonstrate the vision, influence and knowledge to lead to meet the demands of the future. Recognition will focus on managers who create the systems and environment to support nursing excellence.
• Innovation: This award will be granted to individuals or teams who are improving practice through innovation and improvement. Recipients might include researchers who are generating new knowledge and evidence, nurses who are making improvements to care processes, and nurses who are innovating to improve outcomes.

Categories were selected based on the framework provided by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center’s Magnet Recognition’s standard for excellence in nursing practice.

Eligibility requirements: Nominations are limited to licensed registered nurses. Geographical boundaries are Dane County and the surrounding counties of Columbia, Dodge, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Rock and Sauk. The nominations period runs from May 3 to June 6, 2022.

Use the form below or email a short, yet detailed, letter of nomination (less than 300 words) and headshot photo of the nurse you’re nominating to Editorial Intern Lydia Slattery at lslattery@madisonmagazine.com. Be sure to include the nurses title and the hospital or institution they work for, and the award category you’d like the nurse to be considered for, plus your name, title and organization where you work. Nominations for Top Nurses 2022 will be accepted through May 31.
