New route set for Ride the Drive

Event scheduled for July 16

MADISON, Wis. — Numerous factors are prompting the route for Madison’s Ride the Drive to change this summer, according to a release from the city of Madison.

Organizers say the route is being changed because of construction on the Capitol Square, event expenses, loss of funding and a desire to heighten the event’s connection to parks.

The new route runs from John Nolen Drive from West Lakeside Street to Williamson Street and North Shore Drive from John Nolen Drive to Proudfit Street. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 16.

Ride the Drive opens streets to bicycles and provides activities and entertainment along the way. The new route provides fun activities, food and entertainment at Brittingham Park, Olin Park and Law Park.
