New Hilldale shops open Tuesday

A west Madison shopping center opened its latest redevelopment Tuesday, including several new stores.

A spokesman for Hilldale Mall said the North Midvale Boulevard expansion opened Tuesday morning after a ceremony.

Work on the $15 million expansion began in early September, when mall officials said the project would add 53,000 square feet in an area between Metcalfe’s and Macy’s on the mall’s north end, making room for a new restaurant and numerous new retailers.

Lucky Brand and Morgan’s Shoes will open at 10 a.m. The other stores will open:

Sur La Table – Wednesday
Stride Rite – Wednesday
New Balance – Thursday
kate spade – Friday
Mes Amies – June 10
LUSH – June 12
Michael Kors – June 18
Waxing the City – July 15
Cornblooms – July 20
Madewell – July 28
Sperry Top-Sider – Aug. 1
