New drug take-back box opens downtown
Schimel: Goal is to prevent painkiller abuse

MADISON, Wis. — A new drug take-back box has opened in downtown Madison, Attorney General Brad Schimel said Friday.
In a news release, Schimel said the box, which is the first drug-disposal spot downtown, will allow people to safely dispose of unused prescription drugs in an effort to reduce prescription painkiller abuse.
The box, located inside the Risser Justice Center, 17 W. Main St., is open to the public from 7:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m Monday-Friday.
