NCAA tournament: VT defeats Saint Louis, 66-52

The Virginia Tech Hokies Friday night defeated the Billikins of Saint Louis, 66-52, to advance to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

The Hokies got double-digit scoring from three players, led by Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who pored in 20 points. Kerry Blackshear Jr, 15 points, and Ahmed Hill, 10 points, were key players tonight

Javon Bess led all Saint Louis scorers with 14, while D.J. Foreman added 12 and Tramaine Isabell had 11 for the Billikins.

Virginia Tech, the number 13 seed, will move on to play Liberty, the number 12 seed that upset Mississippi State. The game is scheduled for Sunday, March 24.
