NCAA tournament: Purdue dominates Villanova, 87-61
No. 3 Purdue dominated the No. 6 Villanova Wildcats, 87-61, in their NCAA tournament matchup Saturday night.
The Boilermakers’ second round victory sends them into the third round against the winner of the Iowa vs Tennessee tilt.
That game will be played Sunday morning.
The Final Four is being played this year in Minneapolis’s US Bank Stadium.
Carsen Edwards went off for 42 points for Purdue, leading all scorers on the night. Matt Haarms added 18 and Ryan Cline tossed in 12.
Eric Paschall led Villanova with 18 points.
Purdue now stands with an overall record of 25-9 heading into the Sweet 16.
