Nancy L. Howland, age 66, of Beloit, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center Emergency Dept. She was born on November 25, 1946, in Watertown, WI, the daughter of the late Albert and Muriel Abernathy. Nancy moved to Janesville when she was nine years old and attended Janesville Schools. On November 14, 1981, in Janesville, she married Laurence R. “Rick” Howland. Nancy retired from the paint dept. at GMAD in 1994. A very loving, giving and caring person, who loved her family, Nancy was not afraid to express her opinion. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, and quilting, along with spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband: Rick of Beloit, two children: Lynda Leffel of Janesville and Lonny (Shawna) Howland of Hoonah, AK; her two brothers and their wives: Orin and Mary Evans of Janesville and Dale and Khris Sauer of Milton; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her mother-in-law: Carol Wawroski of West Chester, IL; sister and brothers-in-law: Sandy Wawroski of Stone Park, IL, Louie Wawroski of West Chester, IL and Joe Wawroski of Necedah, WI; other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter: Schnell Howland on December 27, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Whitcomb – Lynch Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Committal services will be on Monday at 11:00 AM at Milton Lawns Memorial Park Chapel.
