March 28, 2018 — Orlando, FL – The NFL owners’ meetings are underway in Orlando, and Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy’s been a busy man. The competition committee revised rules regarding the definition of a catch, targeting, and hinted at the elimination of kickoffs.

Murphy handed control over to new general manager Brian Gutekunst this offseason, and Murphy’s been impressed with his work.

“I think it’s more just that we’re more active. We’re participating in things that we haven’t in the past,” Murphy said Wednesday. “We’re not going to sign everybody and obviously the salary cap with the limitations. Obviously time will tell. We’ve made a couple of pretty major decisions. But no, I’ve been very pleased with what Brian has been doing.”

The Packers signed tight end Jimmy Graham and defensive lineman Mo Wilkerson this offseason. They also revamped the assistant coaching staff and released receiver Jordy Nelson.
