MADISON, Wis. — A Madison man faces charges of battery and disorderly conduct after allegedly punching another person over a dispute about wearing a face mask.

Police say that Abel Mosqueda, 20, was arguing with other patrons in the 100 block of State Street around 2 a.m. Friday after entering a business without a mask.

The manager of the business asked Mosqueda to leave, to which Mosqueda allegedly responded by punching the manager in the face.

Mosqueda then went outside and reportedly punched out an 8×8 window.

Police took Mosqueda into custody after a visit to the hospital for a hand injury.
