MPD: 70-year-old man arrested on suspicion of 7th offense OWI

MADISON, Wis. — Police arrested a man Saturday night for an alleged 7th drunk driving offense.

Law enforcement authorities said 70-year-old Julio A. Garrido was driving erratically on West Washington Avenue before crashing his vehicle near the intersection of South Park and Emerald streets shortly before 8:45 p.m.

According to an incident report, no one was injured in the crash.

Garrido was subsequently taken to the Dane County Jail and tentatively charged with seventh offense OWI, tampering with ignition interlock and operating while revoked.
