MPD: 21-year-old charged in Langdon Street attack
Madison police have arrested a 21-year-old man they believe is responsible for hitting a woman over the head Saturday morning.
Luis A. Castillejos, of Madison, was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of recklessly endangering safety in connection with a violent attack on a woman in downtown Madison, police said.
33359542Police said Castillejos was taken into custody in the area of the Northgate Shopping Center. The police north district team had him under surveillance and detained him at about 9:15 p.m.
The victim told police she was walking along Langdon Street around 3 a.m. Tuesday. Police said Castillejos followed the 25-year-old woman from one Langdon Street-area apartment building to another and attacked her as she was entering the second building.
Castillejos reportedly struck her in the back of the head with a hard object. According to the release, the blow knocked her down, and she suffered head and leg injuries.
