Motorcyclist killed in Dodge County crash

TOWN OF WESTFORD, Wis. — A motorcyclist was killed Friday morning in a crash with a pickup truck, according to a release from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called at 5:19 a.m. to the intersection of County Road G and Sunny Point Road in the town of Westford on a report of a crash.

Investigators said a GMC pickup truck operated by 57-year-old John Gerbensky was traveling south on Sunny Point Road and hit 35 -year-old Derek Lemkuil, who was operating a motorcycle traveling west on County Road G when the truck entered the intersection and the vehicles collided.

Lemkuil was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. Gerbensky was not injured.

Those involved in the crash have not yet been identified pending notification of family members.

The Beaver Dam Fire Department, Flight for Life, Beaver Dam paramedics, Beaver Dam police, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain and the Dodge County Emergency Response Team assisted at the scene.
