Motorcyclist involved in crash gets hit by car, dump truck, officials say

MADISON, Wis. — The Dodge County Sheriff’s department is investigating a fatal crash Wednesday night near the village of Ashippun.

The crash was reported around 7:25 p.m. on County Road P, just north of O’Neill Road, officials said.

A motorcycle driven by 52-year old Richard Behling of rural Hartford was going north when it struck a deer in the roadway, and the driver was ejected, according to a release. The driver came to rest in the traffic lane, and was then hit by a northbound passenger car driven by 56-year-old Susan Pretzel from the Town of Ashippun and a northbound dump truck driven by 48-year-old Harvey Buchholz from Iron Ridge.

The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The crash is still under investigation.
