Molly Morrison Wood

Molly Morrison Wood, age 83, of Stoughton, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022. She was born on Aug. 18, 1939, in Saltcoats Scotland, the daughter of David Dickie and Agnes (Morrison) Dickie.

Molly immigrated to the U.S. from Scotland when she was 20 years old to work as a nanny in the suburbs of New York City. She later found a job assembling high tech electronic components, including some for NASA that were used in the early days of the shuttle program. She continued to increase her skills, becoming a quality control manager in the final years of her career. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, and walking.

After her retirement in 2001, Molly devoted her time to her grandchildren, including assisting at Pigeon River Elementary, attending numerous extracurricular activities, and providing countless hours of childcare and memories we’ll never forget.

Molly is survived by her son, Kevin Wood; daughter, Kelly Wood; grandchildren, Kelsie, Jeff, Jackie, Emily and Michael; sisters, Jessie Murphy (husband, Robert, deceased), Susan (Charlie) Brown and Nettie (David) Sillers; sister-in-law, Iris Dickie; and other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alan; brother, Davie Dickie; and daughter-in-law, Jeanie.
